Our Story
Nestled in the heart of downtown YXE since 1986, the salon is home to 8 talented, independent stylists. Terry Swan is the sole proprietor of Shear Excellence Hair Artistry.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Terry owned her first salon right out of hair school. She likes to say she “fell” into the business of hairdressing, but there is no doubt that staying in the business has required professional acumen and a lot of hard work. This is a “people business” and Terry’s success is due to putting our guests first, and maintaining a quality work environment.
Terry is known for the way she encourages her fellow stylists to be creative and innovative. Her openness to her coworker’s abilities and her celebration and encouragement of their uniqueness is one of the reasons she has seasoned, talented people working alongside her. Shear Excellence is a solid team of stylists whose goal is to serve the Saskatoon community by being excellent at what they do. Pursuing ongoing in house education as well as travelling abroad for classes is part of this successful paradigm. Respect for our guests, respect for each other, continual growth and collaboration and a whole lot of laughter and fun makes Shear Excellence a wonderful work environment.
